AWS Elemental MediaConvert Adds Multi-DRM CMAF Output and Expands Audio Track Support

With SPEKE-based multi-DRM support in CMAF, you can save storage by outputting a single set of fMP4 assets referenced by both an HLS package and a DASH package, each with its own DRM signaling. For example, you could create a single set of fMP4 outputs protected using FairPlay for the HLS package, and Widevine and PlayReady for the DASH package, instead of creating three separate output sets.

MediaConvert also now supports up to 64 tracks of audio, using certain media containers, so you can ingest mezzanine content with high track counts and route the audio to various outputs. You can now process content with multiple global audio languages more easily and use MediaConvert with other workflows that require processing up to 64 audio tracks.

Using AWS Elemental MediaConvert, video providers with any size content library can easily and reliably transcode on-demand content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery. MediaConvert functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer the capabilities needed to transport, transcode, package, and deliver video.
