AWS DataSync can now transfer data to and from SMB file shares

Using the AWS DataSync Console or AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), your SMB file shares can be configured as either the source or destination of your data transfer tasks. You configure the credential that DataSync will use to authenticate to your SMB file share, for example using a domain user from your Active Directory (AD). Then when you execute your DataSync task, the service scans the source for changes, and securely copies any differences from the source to the destination. For SMB file shares, DataSync maintains file names, file contents, and file metadata including directory structures and timestamps. You have full control over which changes DataSync transfers. For example, you can specify whether files in the destination should be deleted when they are not found in the source, and select which files should be included or excluded in a transfer using filter patterns
